QUILL READING: Two Plays by Inge & Williams

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 25 at 7:00pm

Join us for the second event in our new QUILL Reading Series! In tandem with our production of Philip Dawkins’ THE GENTLEMAN CALLER, we’ll be hosting a staged reading of two plays by the central characters, A MURDER by William Inge, and THIS PROPERTY IS CONDEMNED by Tennessee Williams, both directed by Eli Newell.

A MURDER by William Inge
A private man with a box of memories seeks lodging at a strange boarding house—a place where the weather and time itself can change in an instant. When the man discovers the dead body of a young boy in the wardrobe, we wonder if we really have crossed over into another dimension.

THIS PROPERTY IS CONDEMNED by Tennessee Williams
This one-act returns to Raven for the first time since our production in 1990! On a railroad embankment on the outskirts of a small Mississippi town, a 12 year-old girl named Willie spends her days balancing on the tracks (attempting to break a record), and avoiding the now condemned home where she’s been abandoned.

Featuring Lynne Baker, Phoebe González, Chris Peltier and Samuel Douglas.

The event is pay-what-you-can, with a suggested donation of $10 at the door. No reservation required.

We’ll see you there!
