Chicago Youth Shakespeare’s production of Othello features the collaborative work of 15 talented youth actors and artistic contributors, ages 14-19, and examines one of Shakespeare’s most tragic and timelessly relevant stories through a contemporary lens that speaks directly to today’s young adults. Set on a modern day undergraduate campus, the play confronts issues of race, abuse, and identity, and the societal structures that perpetuate those very issues.
Othello runs approximately one hour with no intermission and will be followed by a brief, post-show talk-back with cast members and contributing artists.
