CHICAGO AND RAVEN THEATRE COVID-19 PROTOCOL

Welcome back to Raven Theatre! We are so excited to have artists and audiences back in our facility. As we return to live performances, we have put in place guidelines to make sure our space is both comfortable and safe for our audiences, artists, and staff members. Those guidelines and requirements will be outlined and updated on this page. Raven will be monitoring local, state, and federal guidelines and reflect any changes here:  

CHICAGO THEATRE VACCINATION MANDATE 

“On August 17th, Raven Theatre joined with a consortium of over 60 Chicago area performing arts venues and producers to follow safety protocols for protecting our patrons, artists, staff, and volunteers in the face of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. Starting September 1st, all performances at Raven Theatre will be requiring patrons to be fully vaccinated and masked for entry into the theatre. Unvaccinated patrons will be required to show proof of a negative test.”

PROOF OF VACCINATION
Persons are considered ”fully vaccinated” when 14 days have passed since receiving the second dose of FDA or WHO authorized double-dose vaccines (such as Moderna or Pfizer) or 14 days since receiving the single dose of FDA or WHO authorized single-dose vaccines (such as Johnson & Johnson). Raven Theatre will accept the following proof of vaccination:   

– CDC Vaccination Card (Hard copy, photocopy, or a clear photo on your smart phone)
Vaccination/Immunization Record (from a health provider or online portal)
– Apple Wallet, Google Pay, or another verified smartphone application/platform:
      • IDPH Vax Verify PortalVaxYesClear Health PassCommon PassVeriFLY, and more. 

Please note: To protect your medical privacy, Raven Theatre will NOT retain any medical documents on file. Please do not mail or email us any documents. All guests will need to present proof of vaccination at every event.

PROOF OF NEGATIVE TESTS
Those who cannot be vaccinated due to a medical condition or closely held religious belief, or for those the vaccine is not yet approved (i.e. children under 12), the theatre will require proof of a negative test. Raven will accept the following: 

– A negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of the event.
  or
– A negative rapid antigen test taken within 6 hours of the event.

MASK REQUIRMENTS
Masks will be required the entire time patrons are inside Raven’s facilities. The following masks are recommended to best stop the spread of COVID-19: 

– Non-medical disposable masks (also available on site).
Masks that fit properly (snugly around nose and chin, no gaps around the sides of the face).
Masks made with breathable fabric, such as cotton.
Woven Masks (fabrics that do not let light pass through when held up to a light source).
Masks with two or three layers or inner filter pockets. 

If you do not have a suitable mask or have forgotten yours upon arrival, Raven will supply you with a non-medical disposable mask.  

YOUR VISIT & THEATRE OPERATIONS
Please have your proof of vaccination or negative results ready when you arrive to our theatre. Promptly visit the box office where our staff will confirm your proof and check you in for the performance. We advise our guests to plan their arrival so they have enough time to check in at the box office without overcrowding the lobby.  

For public safety, we will not be selling concessions or providing access to our water fountain. We will also not permit outside food or beverage. Restrooms will be open. We ask that patrons social distance when possible – in the theatre, lobby, and restrooms.  Actors will not be available to meet patrons in the lobby after the show.  

RESCHEDULING TICKETS
If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or are feeling uncomfortable attending, we can easily reschedule your tickets, free of charge. Patrons who are unable to provide vaccine proof or test results will also be rescheduled, allowing more time to gather the listed requirements.

AT RAVEN
The Raven Staff has worked hard to ensure that our facility is clean and comfortable for our guests. Our facilities are cleaned daily, and all high-touch surfaces are sanitized regularly throughout events. Our administrative and artistic staff are fully vaccinated, and we have instated several COVID-19 officers that will function as a resource for our guests and staff. We have also improved our HVAC system for proper ventilation, as well as provide hand sanitizer and disposable masks for those who need them.

ARE YOUR FACILITIES OPEN?
Raven Theatre is currently closed to audiences and visitors. At the moment, only fully vaccinated staff members are working in our office. Our space is available for renters, but we will not have any productions until October.

WHAT ABOUT MY TICKETS/SUBSCRIPTIONS?
All unused tickets and subscriptions have been consolidated into Raven Show Credits, which can be used at any point in our 2021 – 2022 Season. Single tickets equal one credit, while a four-show subscription results in four credits. At this point, we have made multiple points of contact based on our patron data. Unclaimed credits will be converted to a donation at the end of 2021, while claimed credits can be used throughout the season.
